Ashutosh Gupta aged 40 years is a Graduate in Business administration. After completion of his education, he joined Medicamen Biotech Ltd. A Company listed on the Bombay Stock exchange. On attaining the age of 25 years (minimum age to join the Board of a listed Company) he was appointed in the capacity of Executive Director. Initially he was responsible for production and overall administration of the Bhiwari Plant of the Company. Later in the year 2007, he was given the responsibility of erecting a new plant in the tax-free zone of SIDCUL Haridwar, Uttarakhand, where he established 2 State of the Art-Plants – one for Medicamen biotech Ltd., and another for Medicamen Organics Ltd., which he successfully handled independently upto getting all licences and clearances from Environment, Labour Department, Boiler , Fire, electricity Departments etc and finally got product permissions to start production.
Then he was shifted to Sales and was given the charge of export Business Development in order to give him all round experience of Erecting Plants, Production and sale including export sale. He started participating in one to one business meetings in International business tours organised by various Export promotion organizations. He participated in many Internation Exhibitions organised by CPHi Worldwide and umbrella organisation of World exhbiitions on Pharma in UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and far off places like Brazil, where he developed the Pharma business for the Company. He travelled to around 70 countries in a very short span of 10 years and Company(Medicamen Biotech Ltd) export touched a level of 87 crores in the year 2015. Then he joined Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council, an organisation established by the Government of India for the promotion of Pharma export from India. Initially he joined as an Executive Member, promoted as Vice-Chairman (2 years) and then was finally elected as Chairman where he remained in this capacity for 3 years. During this time he was leading almost all the delegations to overseas countries where being Chairman, he was having access to meet the regulators,Business leaders and Top Government officials of the countries being visited, which enabled to gain wide experience in the field of Pharma Export.
